Cordyceps Corpse - Perverse Craving for Rotting Corpses
Ohio's Cordyceps Corpse returns with their long-awaited sophomore full-length, Perverse Craving for Rotting Corpses, delivering an uncompromising statement that embraces the savage spirit of classic slamming brutal death metal while pushing the band's songwriting to a new level.
Drawing inspiration from genre-defining acts like Devourment, Cephalotripsy, Cryptopsy, and more, the album captures the filthy production, crushing groove, and technical brutality that defined the late '90s and early 2000s underground scene. Rather than relying solely on breakdown-driven slam, the band intentionally expanded their songwriting with more intricate riffing, memorable transitions, and relentless pacing that rewards repeat listens. Every track balances devastating slam sections with technical death metal passages, creating an album that feels both nostalgic and fresh.
